Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive grid infrastructure experience for a fully remote role. You will lead design and development of large-scale electrical systems, ensuring robustness, efficiency, and compliance with international standards.

You will mentor junior engineers and guide projects, collaborating with clients, regulators, and construction teams to deliver safe, reliable power delivery on a global scale.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical power systems engineering.
• Expertise in power system modeling and simulation software (PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP).
• Experience in designing and managing complex transmission and distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for major grid infrastructure projects, including transmission and distribution systems.
• Develop conceptual designs, detailed engineering plans, and specifications for substations, power lines, and related facilities.
• Perform complex power system studies, including stability, short‑circuit, and load flow analysis.
• Provide expert technical guidance and oversight on project execution, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Mentor and develop junior staff through guidance and knowledge sharing in a remote setting.
