Placements24 is recruiting a Lead Electrical Engineer in Sandton to oversee electrical design and implementation for premier commercial developments. You will direct design teams, collaborate with architects and contractors, and ensure all systems meet SANS and safety standards.

The role requires a strong track record in large-scale commercial projects, BMS and smart building tech exposure, and leadership of engineers from concept to handover.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA.
• 9+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with focus on commercial property development and building services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering design process for commercial building projects from concept to completion.
• Develop detailed electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, security, and fire alarm systems.
• Specify equipment and materials ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and manage a team of electrical engineers and designers; oversee work quality.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with SANS and national building regulations and safety standards.
• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and authorities to maintain project progress.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and commissioning to verify performance.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
