Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design team in Randburg, Gauteng. You will oversee conceptualization, detail design, and project management of electrical systems for commercial, residential, and institutional buildings, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage design coordination with multiple disciplines, and stay abreast of new technologies to deliver sustainable and safe built

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical design with building services.
• Experience managing electrical design for complex building projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Amtech or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for building services from concept to completion.
• Develop drawings, specs, and calculations for power, lighting, earthing, and protection.
• Coordinate with architects, structural and mechanical engineers, and clients.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, IEC, BS, and other standards.
• Prepare tender documents, evaluate contractor submissions, and oversee commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
