Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Services Engineer to oversee electrical installations and maintenance for its commercial properties in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role requires ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with client requirements, including design reviews, project coordination, and site inspections.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in electrical services engineering, strong knowledge of building codes, power distribution, lighting design, and low-voltage

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical services engineering.
• Knowledge of South African electrical standards and building codes.
• Experience managing contractors and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical design drawings and specifications for new constructions and refurbishments.
• Ensure compliance of all electrical installations with the latest SANS 10142 and other relevant building regulations.
• Oversee electrical contractors during installation phases, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
• Manage the electrical maintenance program for existing properties, including planned maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess the condition of electrical installations and identify potential hazards or deficiencies.
• Investigate electrical faults and provide timely solutions to minimize disruption to building occupants.
• Specify and procure electrical equipment and materials as required.
• Liaise with tenants, facility managers, and other stakeholders on electrical-related matters.
• Develop and manage budgets for electrical maintenance and minor works projects.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation.
