Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer focused on building services for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

You will design electrical systems, prepare drawings with AutoCAD or Revit MEP, ensure SANS 10142 compliance, conduct site surveys, and collaborate with architects and project teams to deliver efficient, sustainable designs.

A strong communicator with at least five years' experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit MEP for electrical design.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire detection, and security systems.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations using CAD software.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., SANS 10142), and client requirements.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections during the construction phase to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, mechanical engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Perform energy efficiency analysis and recommend sustainable electrical solutions.
