Placements24 in George, Western Cape, seeks a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to head the electrical design for major infrastructure projects from concept to handover. You will lead cross-functional teams, ensure technical integrity, and liaise with clients to meet safety and performance standards.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of design experience, and a PE/Pr. Eng designation, with proficiency in ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering design experience.
• PE or Pr. Eng. designation is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for complex projects, ensuring budget, scope, and timeline constraints.
• Develop detailed electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and protection systems.
• Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and specifications from the engineering team.
• Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies to gather requirements and identify design challenges.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers; foster a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and client requirements.
