Placements24 in George, Western Cape, seeks a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to head the electrical design for major infrastructure projects from concept to handover. You will lead cross-functional teams, ensure technical integrity, and liaise with clients to meet safety and performance standards.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of design experience, and a PE/Pr. Eng designation, with proficiency in ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and strong leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for complex projects, ensuring budget, scope, and timeline constraints.

• Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and specifications from the engineering team.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join their esteemed engineering department in George . This critical role involves leading the electrical design aspects of major infrastructure projects, from conceptualization through to final handover. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and efficiency of electrical designs, managing design teams, and liaising with clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for complex projects, ensuring adherence to budget, scope, and timeline constraints.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical system design for large-scale industrial or commercial facilities.
• Proficiency with advanced electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Pr. Eng. designation is mandatory.
