Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Performance Tuner in Soweto, Gauteng to optimize engine performance through ECU remapping, tuning, and data analysis. The role involves working with high-performance vehicles, diagnosing issues, and ensuring compliance with emissions and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of engine management systems, diagnostic tools (HP Tuners, Cobb, ECUTek), and hands-on experience with dynamometer testing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Automotive Performance Tuner or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of engine management systems, electronic fuel injection, and ECU programming.
• Proficiency with tuning software and diagnostic tools (HP Tuners, Cobb, ECUTek).
• Experience with dynamometer operation and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of engine mechanics, turbocharging, and naturally aspirated systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform ECU remapping and tuning for various vehicle makes and models to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Diagnose engine performance issues using specialized diagnostic equipment and software.
• Conduct dyno testing and data logging to analyze engine performance and validate tuning results.
• Customize tuning maps based on customer requirements and vehicle modifications.
• Ensure all tuning modifications comply with emissions regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed records of tuning procedures, parameters, and customer vehicles.
• Stay updated on the latest tuning technologies and software updates.
• Provide expert advice to customers regarding performance upgrades and tuning options.
