You will modify fuel delivery, ignition timing, boost, and throttle control while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety. Strong diagnostics, data-logging, and customer guidance are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Automotive Performance Tuner or similar role focusing on engine performance.
• In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines, ECUs, and engine management systems.
• Proficiency with professional tuning software and hardware (EcuTek, Cobb, HP Tuners, standalone ECUs).
• Experience operating and interpreting data from dynamometers.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and sensors.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills related to engine performance.
• Ability to interpret engine data logs and make informed tuning decisions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for automotive performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform ECU remapping and performance tuning on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine performance issues, including drivability problems, misfires, and power loss.
• Utilize dynamometers (dynos) and other diagnostic tools to measure and analyze vehicle performance before and after tuning.
• Modify engine parameters such as fuel delivery, ignition timing, boost pressure, and electronic throttle control.
• Develop custom tuning maps based on specific customer requirements and vehicle modifications.
• Ensure all tuning modifications comply with relevant emissions regulations where applicable.
• Stay updated with the latest tuning software, hardware, and automotive technology advancements.
• Provide expert advice to customers on performance upgrades and tuning options.
• Maintain detailed records of tuning procedures, modifications, and customer specifications.
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of tuning equipment and workshop facilities.
