Job summary

Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking a Senior Automotive Performance Engineer to lead engine tuning, suspension optimization, and vehicle dynamics improvements for a range of high-performance vehicles.

You will work in a state-of-the-art facility with dynamometers and diagnostic tools, design modifications, analyze data logs, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with tuning software such as Haltech, Motec, ECUTek, Cobb Accessport, and VCM Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years' hands-on automotive performance experience.
• Deep knowledge of engine tuning, suspension and chassis tuning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute engine tuning strategies using ECU remapping tools.
• Conduct dynamometer testing to evaluate performance and drivability.
• Analyze data logs and optimize fuel, ignition, and boost parameters.
• Design modifications to suspension systems for handling and stability.
• Collaborate with fabrication on performance components.
• Mentor junior engineers and document tuning results.
