Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join a distributed security team in a fully remote capacity. You will design, implement, and maintain advanced security solutions that protect critical digital infrastructure and data.

You will lead efforts across cloud and on-prem environments, automate security processes with Python and Bash, and guide incident response while collaborating with DevSecOps practices to strengthen security across the system lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 8+ years of cybersecurity engineering and operations experience.
• Proven expertise in network and cloud security (AWS, Azure).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash).
• Experience with security monitoring, detection, and incident response platforms.
• Remote-first mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, endpoint security).
• Develop and automate security processes and tools.
• Conduct in-depth security assessments, pentesting, and vulnerability management.
• Lead incident response, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security throughout the lifecycle (DevSecOps).
• Research and implement new security technologies and best practices to stay ahead of evolving threats.
