Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Site Manager to oversee operations on key Richards Bay projects. You will supervise all on-site activities, enforce HSE standards, and ensure alignment with schedules and quality requirements.

This role requires leadership of site personnel, subcontractors, and equipment across large-scale infrastructure initiatives. Ideal candidates hold a construction management or civil engineering degree, 8+ years' experience, and a strong safety

Qualifications

• 8+ years of proven experience as a Site Manager or Construction Manager.
• Degree or diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects in coastal areas.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations (OHS Act).
• Proficient with construction management software and tools.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to extend hours and travel within KwaZulu-Natal.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Manage and coordinate site staff, subcontractors, and labor force effectively.
• Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
• Monitor construction progress against the project schedule, identifying and addressing potential delays.
• Ensure the quality of workmanship and materials meets specified standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage site logistics, including the efficient deployment of equipment and materials.
• Maintain accurate daily site reports, including progress, safety incidents, and resource allocation.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide updates and resolve site-specific issues.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations applicable in KwaZulu-Natal.
• Oversee site security and the proper storage of materials and equipment.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of proven experience as a Site Manager or Construction Manager in the construction industry.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects in Richards Bay or similar coastal industrial areas.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
• Strong understanding and practical application of health and safety regulations (e.g., OHS Act).
• Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage complex site operations.
