Placements24 seeks an accomplished Senior Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple large-scale commercial and residential developments in Cape Town, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high safety standards.

The role combines on-site leadership with strategic planning and remote administrative work, requiring strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and a proven track record in complex project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of proven experience in construction project management, with significant experience in large-scale commercial or residential developments.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes specific to South Africa.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Procore, Primavera P6) and MS Office.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, SACPCMP) are highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in both office and active construction sites, with leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Manage and coordinate on-site activities, including subcontractor management, material procurement, and progress monitoring.
• Conduct regular site inspections and provide leadership to site teams.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution and communication.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing contingency plans as necessary.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.
• Manage project finances, including tracking expenditures, approving invoices, and managing change orders.
