Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join our team in Sandton. The role involves developing and maintaining robust compliance programs, advising on regulatory requirements, and safeguarding the firm's reputation through proactive risk management.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in financial services compliance, deep knowledge of SA regulatory frameworks, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a financial services compliance role.
• In-depth knowledge of SA financial services legislation.
• Certifications in compliance (e.g., ICA Diploma, CCEP) advantageous.
• Strong risk management and internal controls understanding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the firm's compliance program per FAIS, FICA, POPIA.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments identifying non-compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and adjust operations accordingly.
• Develop and deliver compliance training for employees at all levels.
• Investigate potential breaches and recommend remedial actions.
• Review marketing materials and client communications for compliance.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies during examinations and inquiries.
• Advise senior management on compliance matters and best practices.
• Manage regulatory reporting obligations.
• Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures.
