Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team. You will design, implement, and maintain robust security measures for cloud infrastructure, focusing on AWS and Azure.

The role emphasizes threat detection, compliance, and secure DevSecOps practices in a remote-first environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in information security, with 3+ years in cloud security engineering, and holds or values relevant cloud security certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate valued.
• Minimum 5 years in information security, 3+ years cloud security engineering.
• Proven experience securing AWS/Azure services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM; Azure AD, AzureFirewall).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud infra.
• Implement and maintain IAM security controls in the cloud.
• Conduct security assessments and cloud penetration testing.
• Monitor cloud environments for threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance deviations.
• Automate security tasks with scripting and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Respond to cloud security incidents; investigate, contain, remediate.
• Collaborate with Dev & Ops to embed security in CI/CD (DevSecOps).
• Stay updated on cloud security trends and best practices.
