Placements24 is seeking a talented Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS and Azure for a remote team based in South Africa. The role emphasizes automation, IAM, and secure cloud adoption.

You will work with a global team, stay ahead of threats, and contribute to security strategy while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote position. A strong background in cloud security and scripting is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in information security, with 3+ years in cloud security.
• Proven experience securing AWS and Azure environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, data protection and container security.
• Scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and IaC tooling experience.
• Security monitoring and incident response in cloud environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Certifications like AWS Certified Security - Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate are desirable.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Implement and manage IAM controls within cloud platforms.
• Configure and monitor AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, WAF, and IDS/IPS.
• Automate security tasks and processes using scripting and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Conduct security reviews of cloud architectures and deployments.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents within the cloud environment.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure cloud adoption and operation.
• Stay updated on emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
