Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team. You will design, implement, and manage security for cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, focusing on automation, threat detection, and incident response.

The ideal candidate brings at least 4 years of cloud security experience, strong scripting (Python/Bash), IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and a solid understanding of security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in cloud security engineering or related cybersecurity role focusing on cloud platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of major cloud providers' security services and best practices (AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, IAM).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform for security deployments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation of security tasks.
• Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and security principles in a cloud context.
• Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote, collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls and architectures for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and automate security processes, including vulnerability management, configuration management, and incident response in the cloud.
• Implement and manage cloud security tools such as WAF, IDS/IPS, security groups, and encryption services.
• Monitor cloud environments for security threats, anomalies, and potential breaches, and respond effectively.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain cloud security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Provide expertise on cloud security best practices and emerging threats to internal teams.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) within cloud environments, ensuring least privilege principles.
• Perform incident response activities for cloud-specific security events.
