Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a fast-growing SaaS provider to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer. The role focuses on building, scaling, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automating deployment pipelines, and ensuring reliability and performance of the platform.

You will work with engineers to implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and cloud security best practices, while operating in a fully remote setup based near Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering.
• 5+ years in DevOps/SRE or related infra role.
• Proven cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Expertise in containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Networking and security best practices.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Agile/Scrum mindset with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Implement Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security; preemptively address issues.
