Placements24 in South Africa is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team. You will build, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across deployments.

You will design CI/CD pipelines, automate provisioning with Terraform/Ansible, and monitor systems. The role requires scripting in Bash or Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and collaboration with a remote team to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Proven DevOps experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and security best practices.
• Proficient in Bash/Python scripting and automation.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiar with Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
• Knowledge of networking, monitoring, and incident response.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration in remote teams.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for applications.
