Placements24 is seeking a Remote Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a strong automation focus to design, implement and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure. This role emphasizes automating deployment, scaling, and management processes to enable rapid, secure app deployment in a fully remote South African context.

You will work with AWS/Azure/GCP, IaC tools, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency while collaborating with distributed teams in a flexible, autonomous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as Cloud Infrastructure/DevOps with automation focus.
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure or GCP and IaC tools like Terraform/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure across major providers.
• Develop and implement IaC solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployments with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, ensure high availability and resource efficiency.
• Enforce cloud security best practices: IAM, network security, data protection.
• Collaborate with development teams to support infrastructure needs in a remote setting.
