Job summary

Scatec seeks a Senior Civil Engineer – Wind in South Africa to lead civil engineering across development, structuring, execution, and operations for utility‑scale wind projects. You will steer geotechnical, hydrological, and structural work, manage foundations, roads, and drainage, and guide design teams and contractors to robust, buildable solutions.

You will mentor junior staff, support professional registration, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, compliant project

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and professional engineering registration.
8+ years’ civil engineering experience, including 3+ years in wind energy.
Experience managing designs across foundations, drainage, roads, pavements, structures, and buildings.

Responsibilities

Lead civil engineering activities across wind projects and provide technical direction to teams and partners.
Define site investigation, geotechnical and hydrological testing programmes.
Prepare and evaluate civil RFPs and perform due diligence on foundation solutions.
Coordinate detailed civil designs and integrate risks into construction documentation.
Mentor engineers and support professional registration within the civil team.
