Scatec in Cape Town, South Africa, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of renewable energy projects with a focus on mechanical substructures. You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure technical and contractual requirements are met from development through construction and handover.

The role demands 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with emphasis on structural analysis and PV project execution, along with AutoCAD

Formación

• Degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• At least four years’ relevant engineering experience with three years in structural analysis and three years in a project environment.
• Experience in AutoCAD, mechanical testing processes, and utility-scale PV project design and execution.
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills, with cross-functional teamwork ability.
• English fluency (written and spoken) is required; CFD/FEM knowledge and other languages are advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Support senior engineers in delivering technically compliant renewable energy projects focusing on mechanical substructures.
• Manage allocated design activities, technical assessments and due diligence.
• Develop mechanical base cases and specifications; evaluate technologies and perform due diligence.
• Coordinate mechanical system designs and ensure project structuring requirements are met in construction.
• Engage with lenders’ advisers, suppliers, contractors and teams to resolve technical matters.
• Review design changes, conduct site visits, support testing, commissioning and handover.
• Follow Scatec’s operating system; improve tools and templates.
• Translate sound mechanical design into reliable renewable energy assets.
