Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design and execution of roads, water and drainage projects in Vereeniging, Gauteng, in a hybrid role combining site visits with office design work.

The candidate should have 8+ years of civil engineering experience, Pr.Eng. registration, and strong leadership with proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD and HEC-RAS to deliver compliant, sustainable infrastructure for the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water supply, and sanitation systems.
• Perform complex engineering calculations, analyses, and modelling using specialized software.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international standards and regulations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
• Oversee construction activities, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality control.
• Conduct site investigations, surveys, and assessments.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and tender documents.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff.
