Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer for our Vereeniging office to lead civil infrastructure design and documentation for roads, water, and urban projects.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA registration is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant civil engineering design and project management experience.
• Proven track record in design of roads, stormwater systems, and municipal services.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects including roads, earthworks, drainage, and utilities.
• Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, specifications, and tender documents.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and impact analyses.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, authorities, and other consultants.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS, bylaws, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Review shop drawings and respond to site queries during construction.
• Maintain project documentation and records.
• Stay updated with advancements in civil engineering design and construction practices.
