Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer for Randburg-based projects. You will lead site development, grading, drainage, and utility coordination, delivering robust civil infrastructure designs.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare drawings, reports, and specifications, and ensure compliance with South African codes and standards. A PE registration with ECSA is mandatory, with 7+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA mandatory.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer, and modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of stormwater management, hydrology, and South African building codes.
• Leadership and ability to mentor junior engineers in an office setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for site development projects, encompassing grading, drainage, and utility coordination.
• Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for various civil infrastructure projects.
• Perform complex calculations for earthwork volumes, hydraulic design, and stormwater management systems.
• Ensure designs comply with local regulations, municipal standards, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of junior civil engineers and technicians.
