Job summary

Placements24 in Soweto, Gauteng, is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to support site development projects, including roads, earthworks, and drainage design. You will work under experienced engineers on CAD drawings, surveys, and on-site activities to translate plans into tangible infrastructure.

You should have a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering, be willing to register with ECSA in the future, and have familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Willingness to register with ECSA as a Professional Engineer in the future.
0-2 years of civil engineering experience with interest in site development.
Familiarity with AutoCAD; Civil 3D knowledge is a plus.
Basic surveying, earthworks, and drainage design principles.
Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Assist senior engineers in design and planning of site development projects (roads, parking, utility connections).
Conduct and review site surveys and topographical analyses.
Support earthworks design and grading plans; assist stormwater design.
Prepare drawings and documentation using CAD under supervision.
Participate in site inspections and construction supervision activities.
Perform quantity take-offs and assist with cost estimations.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and municipal standards.
Coordinate with contractors and site personnel.
