Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Engineer to manage and optimize plant operations at their Centurion facility. This hands-on role focuses on safe, efficient operation of chemical manufacturing processes, collaborating with production teams to troubleshoot challenges and implement improvements.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with at least five years of experience in chemical plant operations, and possess strong knowledge of process equipment, control

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in chemical plant operations or similar.
Understanding of chemical process equipment and control systems.
Experience with safety management systems and environmental regulations.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Good communication and leadership to manage operations.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of chemical production units, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
Monitor process performance, troubleshoot deviations, and implement corrective actions.
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for plant operations.
Participate in safety reviews, hazard analyses (HAZOP), and risk assessments.
Manage process data, generate performance reports, and identify opportunities for yield improvement.
Liaise with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and manage planned shutdowns.
