Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join their R&D team in Centurion, focusing on process optimization to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability of chemical operations. You will analyze existing processes, design new technologies, run pilot plants, and develop documentation while collaborating with R&D, production and quality control to drive continuous improvement.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, a degree in Chemical Engineering, and expertise with Aspen Plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in chemical process design, optimization, or scale-up.
• Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS for process simulation.
• HAZOP and process safety management experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current chemical processes to identify bottlenecks and efficiency improvements.
• Design and implement new process technologies to optimize yield, reduce waste, and lower energy consumption.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot plant trials for new process concepts and scale-up operations.
• Develop process documentation including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality control to ensure successful process implementation.
• Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
