Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
- 8+ years of process engineering experience in chemical/petrochemical environments.
- Proficient in process simulations (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and P&ID development.
- Strong knowledge of unit operations, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
- Experience with process safety management (PSM) and MOC procedures.
Responsibilities
- Design, optimize and troubleshoot chemical processes for efficiency and safety.
- Conduct process simulations, HA ZOP analysis, and risk assessments.
- Troubleshoot operational issues; identify root causes and implement fixes.
- Oversee process improvements and new technology installations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, P&ID diagrams, and manuals.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide plant operations in Durban.
