Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Case Manager for a respected community service provider in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will lead a team, oversee a diverse caseload, and drive family-focused interventions with strategic planning and program development.

You will mentor junior staff, ensure high-quality client-centered services, supervise assessments, coordinate with external agencies, and contribute to policy discussions to strengthen families across the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in case management and family services.
• Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g., SACSSP).
• Extensive knowledge of child development, family systems theory, and trauma‑informed care.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and advocacy skills.
• Proficiency in managing complex cases and navigating bureaucratic systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload of families requiring intensive support across child protection and reunification.
• Conduct thorough assessments of family dynamics and develop intervention plans.
• Provide direct therapeutic support and counseling to families.
• Coordinate with external agencies, schools, and healthcare providers.
• Supervise and mentor a team of case managers with regular feedback.
• Develop and implement new programs to meet community needs.
• Maintain confidential client records in line with legal and ethical standards.
• Represent the organization at community forums and inter‑agency meetings.
• Ensure compliance with funding requirements and reporting obligations.
• Participate in case conferences and clinical supervision sessions.
