Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks a Senior Bookkeeper to manage monthly accounts, reconciliations and month-end close. You will handle payroll, VAT, SARS submissions and cash flow forecasting while ensuring accurate ledger records in an in-office role.

The ideal candidate has a BCom in Accounting, SAIPA or SAICA completed, at least 6 years in bookkeeping, and proficiency in Sage Pastel. The position requires strong attention to detail and independent work.

Qualifications

• Requires BCom in Accounting and SAIPA/SAICA articles.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role.
• Proficiency with Sage Pastel accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Must be able to work in-office in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and manage monthly accounts.
• Manage bank accounts and payment loading.
• Perform bank, debtor and creditor reconciliations.
• Process accruals, prepayments and month-end journals.
• Manage payroll, VAT, PAYE and credit control.
• Prepare and submit SARS returns and payments.
• Manage partner commission calculations and payments.
• Process staff expense claims and reimbursements.
• Monitor and manage cash flow and forecasting.
• Assist with budget preparation and budget vs actual reporting.
• Prepare management accounts and other financial reports.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation.
• Take full ownership of the month-end close process.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and up to date.
