Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Durban is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to manage financial records across multiple retail sites. The role requires meticulous bookkeeping, timely processing of invoices, reconciliations, and month-end tasks.

You will collaborate with the finance team, provide store-level commentary, and ensure accuracy and deadlines. Relevant certificates or diplomas and 2-4 years' experience are essential.

Experience with Sage, Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks and strong Excel skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' bookkeeping or financial administration experience.
• Retail or multi-site operations experience preferred.
• Certificate or diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience with bookkeeping software (Sage, Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture supplier, rental, and other finance invoices accurately and timeously.
• Process and allocate cash book entries, including manual bank uploads per store.
• Perform supplier, rental, debtor, bank, general ledger, and petty cash reconciliations.
• Prepare month-end journals, including prepayments, accruals, and provisions.
• Track cash handling, bank charges, and recovery billings.
• Assist with income statement variance analysis and provide store-level commentary.
• Maintain organised financial records and support the Accountant with month-end processes.
• Resolve supplier and internal finance queries in a professional and timely manner.
