Job summary

Pro Talent in Durban is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to oversee financial accounting for multiple entities, managing cashbook, invoicing, supplier payments, journal processing and GL reconciliations.

The role includes supervising the Junior Bookkeeper and Accounts Clerk, preparing monthly management accounts and VAT/EMP returns, and ensuring timely statutory payments while coordinating with the Financial Manager for forecasts and budgets.

Qualifications

• Experience managing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes.
• Ability to prepare monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills including VAT returns.
• Experience overseeing junior staff and coordinating with Financial Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage cashbook, invoicing and supplier payments.
• Process journals and perform GL reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly trial balance and management accounts for review.
• Oversee Junior Bookkeeper and Junior Accounts Clerk workstreams.
• Ensure statutory payments are made by due dates and assist with payroll inputs.
