Job summary

AECOM seeks a seasoned BIM Lead/Structural engineer to model and coordinate concrete and steel structures using Revit, BIM 360 and Navisworks. You will lead BIM delivery across projects with limited supervision and guide junior staff in best practices.

The role requires strong coordination, QA/QC, and adherence to BIM Execution Plans, contributing to a hybrid work environment in Gauteng.

Qualifications

Minimum 12 years’ experience in drawing/modelling of concrete and steel structures.
Minimum 7 years’ experience of relevant Revit modelling.
BIM Qualification / Diploma / bachelor’s degree in civil / Structural Engineering
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfaction

Responsibilities

Model and produce drawings in a BIM environment with limited supervision.
Act as BIM Lead Verifier and ensure compliance with BIM Execution plan and BIM standards.
Coordinate project BIM models and deliverables to meet client requirements and industry standards.
Independently checks the completeness & accuracy of work before senior review.
Initiates coordination strategy and reporting using Navisworks and other tools.
Adopts innovative solutions and develops documentation to support these solutions.
Be the gatekeeper of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information.
Manage submissions and ensure QA/QC protocols are implemented.
Ensure spatial coordination
Initiates and manages projects in BIM360
Contribute to AECOM global digital initiatives
Guiding and management of junior staff
Organizes own and others work to achieve deadlines
Keeps abreast of latest software/techniques to increase productivity
