Placements24 is seeking a Software Engineer with a backend focus to design, develop, and maintain robust systems in Vereeniging. You will build APIs, services, and databases, while optimizing for speed, scalability, and security.

The role requires 4+ years of backend experience and proficiency in Java, Python, C#, or Node.js, plus experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL or NoSQL. Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages: Java, Python, C#, Node.js.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement backend code using Java, Python, C#, or Node.js.
• Build and maintain APIs, services, and databases powering applications.
• Optimize for speed, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with frontend, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
