Placements24 seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Midrand to lead backend development for our client’s digital solutions. You will design scalable architectures, implement robust APIs, and drive performance and reliability across services.

Bring 5+ years of backend experience, proficiency in Python/Java/C#/Go, and strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms. You will mentor teammates in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of backend software development with emphasis on system design and architecture.
• Proficiency in at least one major backend programming language (Python, Java, C#, Go).
• Extensive experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Proven ability to work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture for maximum speed and scalability.
• Implement robust security measures and ensure data protection across all backend systems.
