Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly motivated Senior Backend Engineer to join our fully remote engineering squad. You will design and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python, Java, Go, or Node.js, focusing on performance and reliability.

You will collaborate with product and frontend teams, design robust database schemas (SQL/NoSQL), implement security measures, and mentor junior engineers while shaping architectural decisions in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one server-side language (Python, Java, Go, or Node.js).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills for a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write high-quality, tested code and perform code reviews.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and other engineers to implement new features.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and security of systems.
• Design and manage database schemas and operations (SQL and NoSQL).
