Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Python and Django to join a distributed, remote-first team. You will design, develop, and maintain robust server-side logic for core applications, collaborate with front-end and product teams, and help shape the technical direction.

The role emphasizes scalable, secure services, API design, cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP), and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional backend development experience with Python.
• Strong expertise in Django framework.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Solid understanding of building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containers (Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and remote collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Python and Django.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs supporting front-end apps and third-party integrations.
• Optimize performance and ensure high availability of services.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code.
• Collaborate with front-end, product managers and engineers to implement features.
• Manage databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
