Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a fully remote team serving clients globally from South Africa. You will design, develop, and maintain core backend services and APIs, tackling architectural challenges and driving scalability across distributed systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of backend experience, strong knowledge of Python/Go/Java/Node.js, and proficiency with SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and containerization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of backend development experience.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
• Proven RESTful APIs and microservices experience.
• Strong SQL/NoSQL database design and optimization.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Solid software engineering practices, design patterns, and data structures.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills for remote work.

Responsibilities
