Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our fully remote team. Design, build, and scale backend services powering our platform, mentor engineers, and influence architectural decisions from anywhere.

You'll work with Go, Python, or Java, leverage cloud platforms and containerization, and collaborate with product managers to deliver robust, scalable systems in a remote-first, autonomy-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of backend software development experience.
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or Node.js for backend development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging queues.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containers (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Lead technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Write clean, well-documented, thoroughly tested code in Go, Python, or Java.
• Optimize performance, database interactions, and system efficiency.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
