Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fully remote team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications and core services powering innovative products.

Bring 5+ years of backend experience and strong skills in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js, plus PostgreSQL or MongoDB. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud/container tech is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (AWS, Azure, GCP; Docker).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to define features.
• Optimize performance, queries, and architecture for scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot production issues ensuring high availability.
