Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team. You will design, build, and scale server-side services and APIs, shaping the core infrastructure that powers our platforms.

You will work with distributed teams, write high-quality code in Python, Go, or Java, and mentor peers while tackling complex production issues. This role offers autonomy, a strong engineering culture, and a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience building complex systems.
• Strong expertise in at least one modern backend language (Python, Go, or Java).
• Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases, caching, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate well in remote settings.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Optimize performance, queries, and system architecture for efficiency and robustness.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, well-tested code (Python, Go, or Java).
• Collaborate with frontend developers and product managers on API requirements and integration.
