Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer specializing in microservices to join a fully remote engineering team. You will design, develop, and scale distributed systems, tackling complex technical challenges, and influencing architectural direction from anywhere in the world.

You will work with Go, Java, Python and other tech, build robust APIs, ensure fault tolerance, and collaborate with global teams in an agile, remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of backend software development experience in microservices.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python, or C#).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, messaging with Kafka or RabbitMQ, and containerization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SQL/NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable microservices using modern languages and frameworks (e.g., Go, Java, Python).
• Develop and manage efficient APIs that enable communication between services.
• Architect and implement distributed systems with fault tolerance and resilience.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and best practices.
• Collaborate with product, frontend engineers, and other teams in a remote, agile setting.
