Placements24 seeks a Senior Automotive Cybersecurity Analyst in Cape Town to safeguard connected vehicles and services. You will lead security assessments, define robust controls, and coordinate with engineering teams to embed security across the development lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive cybersecurity, strong knowledge of CAN and Automotive Ethernet, and familiarity with ISO 21434 and UN R155. On-site work in Cape Town with a dynamic, specialized team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with a focus on automotive security.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet) and security implications.
• Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, threats, and attack vectors (OWASP Top 10, STRIDE).
• Experience with security assessment tools and penetration testing.
• Familiarity with ISO 21434 and UN R155 standards/regulations.
• Certifications such as CISSP or CEH are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Conduct security assessments and penetration testing on automotive systems (ECUs, V2X, in-vehicle networks).
• Analyze threat landscapes and develop proactive security strategies.
• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls and architectures for connected vehicles.
• Monitor security events, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering to integrate security in the product lifecycle.
• Stay updated on threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies in automotive security.
• Provide training and guidance on cybersecurity best practices.
• Generate detailed reports on findings, risks, and recommendations.
