Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to join a fully remote team operating across South Africa. The role centers on designing, implementing, and testing robust security architectures for in-vehicle systems, connectivity platforms, and cloud services.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on automotive applications, deep knowledge of embedded systems security, cryptography, and secure protocols (TLS/SSL, IPsec), and experience with ISO 21434

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Cybersecurity, EE, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure software architectures for automotive ECUs, infotainment, and connectivity platforms.
• Develop and execute security testing strategies including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling.
• Define and enforce cybersecurity policies throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures seamlessly.
• Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the automotive industry.
• Respond to and mitigate security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
• Contribute to secure coding practices and guidance in a remote-first setting.
