Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer for its client in Cape Town, offering a hybrid work arrangement. You will protect vehicle systems, design secure architectures, and implement robust security measures across the lifecycle.

The role requires 6+ years in automotive cybersecurity, strong cryptography knowledge, and experience with CAN/Automotive Ethernet. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and regulatory teams to uphold security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a significant focus on automotive or embedded systems.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, including cryptography, network security, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet) and their security implications.
• Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29).
• Familiarity with security testing tools and methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and policies for automotive systems.
• Perform security risk assessments and threat modeling for vehicle architectures and components.
• Design and integrate secure hardware and software solutions, including encryption, authentication, and intrusion detection systems.
• Define and enforce cybersecurity requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Conduct security testing, vulnerability analysis, and penetration testing of automotive systems.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, developing mitigation strategies.
• Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies relevant to the automotive industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is embedded into vehicle design.
• Provide cybersecurity training and awareness to internal teams.
