Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Cybersecurity Specialist to join a hybrid team in Sandton. You will safeguard connected vehicle systems, design and implement robust security measures, and ensure data integrity and availability across vehicle platforms.

The role requires expertise in automotive cyber standards, embedded systems, cryptography, and security testing, with collaboration across software, hardware, and supply chain teams to secure the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Cybersecurity/EE or related field.
• Proven cybersecurity experience, especially in automotive/embedded domains.
• Strong knowledge of cryptography and network security protocols.
• Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies for connected automotive systems.
• Identify vulnerabilities via threat modeling, risk assessments, and testing.
• Design and deploy security controls for in-vehicle networks and cloud services.
• Monitor incidents, investigate breaches, and plan responses.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 21434 and UN R155 and related automotive standards.
• Collaborate with software/hardware/supply chain teams to embed security.
