Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Chassis Systems Engineer in Polokwane, Limpopo, to enhance ride, handling, and safety through advanced chassis design and integration. You will lead design, simulation, testing, and collaboration with manufacturing teams in a full lifecycle role.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 years in automotive chassis engineering, strong CAD/CAE skills (CATIA/SolidWorks/ANSYS/Abaqus), and proven experience in suspension, steering, and braking systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or related field).
6+ years in automotive chassis systems engineering.
Experience in suspension, steering and braking design.
Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (CATIA/SolidWorks/ANSYS/Abaqus).
Strong vehicle dynamics knowledge.
Experience with vehicle testing and data acquisition.
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills; on-site role in Limpopo.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and integrate automotive chassis systems (suspension, steering, braking, structural).
Run simulations and analyze data to optimize ride and handling.
Collaborate with vehicle integration teams for seamless design implementation.
Create and execute test plans for chassis components and systems.
Coordinate with suppliers to specify and procure components.
Troubleshoot design and performance issues throughout development.
