Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Chassis Engineer in Polokwane to lead the design and validation of chassis systems, including suspension, steering, and braking. You will run advanced analyses, develop vehicle integration test plans, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative environment.

The role requires a strong background in vehicle dynamics, 7+ years of experience, and proficiency with CATIA/SolidWorks and CAE tools. A Master’s degree is preferred and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years of automotive chassis engineering experience.
• Proficiency in CATIA/SolidWorks and CAE tools for structural and dynamic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop chassis components and systems (suspension, steering, braking).
• Perform advanced engineering analysis, including FEA and vehicle dynamics simulations.
• Develop and execute test plans for chassis components and vehicle integration.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, and vehicle integration teams for feasibility and manufacturability.
• Mentor junior chassis engineers and support their development.
• Prepare technical documents, reports, and milestones presentations.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging chassis technologies.
