About the Role

Our client, a respected name in the automotive industry, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Automotive Chassis Engineer to join their innovative product development team in Polokwane, Limpopo . This role is crucial for the design, development, and validation of vehicle chassis systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and ride comfort. You will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept generation to production release, working with suspension, steering, braking, and structural components. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop chassis components and systems, including suspension, steering, and braking systems.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, and vehicle integration teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to chassis performance and durability.
• Contribute to the definition of vehicle handling and ride characteristics.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for chassis components.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for project milestones.
• Mentor junior chassis engineers and support their technical development.
• Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and competitor chassis systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in automotive chassis engineering.
• Strong knowledge of suspension, steering, braking systems, and vehicle dynamics.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAE tools for structural and dynamic analysis.
• Experience with vehicle testing procedures and instrumentation.
• Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and material science.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team in Polokwane .
• Proven track record of successfully delivering chassis engineering projects.
